Description
Papua New Guinea Carpenter Estates Peaberry is grown under shade trees on an eco-friendly plantation at 5,000 feet of elevation. Shade promotes the even ripening of the coffee cherries with the bonus that it provides a habitat for at least 90 species of birds. Soil and water conservation is a priority. Coffee cherries are hand-picked only when ripe and pulped on the day of picking. Peaberry beans are rare in that they are round, not flattened because only one bean develops inside the coffee cherry instead of two. This only happens 5-10% of the time.
At a light (cinnamon) roast, this cup has earthy chocolatey notes with a slight bright acidity to it. Funky, almost like a Cadbury fruit and nut bar, or like a fruity black tea with a velvety mouthfeel.
Whole beans in a sealed bag with a one-way vent.
Roasted after you order them. Allow a few days for roasting and a week for delivery.
